What a wonderful day for a walk in the shadow of Ysgryd Fawr! 16 of us from Merthyr Valley Ramblers met outside the church in Llanvihangel Crucorney this morning, and we were lucky to have Morfydd and Rob as our guides, who stepped in at the last minute when the original walk was cancelled. We headed towards Llanvihangel Court, passing through lush green fields and enjoying the views of the Malvern Hills and the Skirrid and Sugar Loaf.We stopped for lunch at a lovely spot near Common Farm, where we could see both hillsides. We then continued our walk towards Pen-y-parc, following the quiet country lanes and admiring the early signs of spring. On our way back to Llanvihangel Court. We took a group photo in front of the impressive manor house, and then headed to The Skirrid Inn, Wales' oldest pub, for some well deserved refreshment.
