Redbrook Kymin Monmouth circular, 16 March 2024

This morning, a lively group of 12 from the Merthyr Valley Ramblers embarked on an 8-mile adventure from the Riverside car park in Redbrook. Our journey took us north, where we delved into the village's rich history as a tin plate production powerhouse. As we trekked along the Offas Dyke path, we reached the historic Naval Temple and The Kymin roundhouse. Here, amidst the beauty of National Trust grounds, we paused for tea and captured memories with group photos. The path then took a playful turn downhill, with a bit of mud-splattered fun near Beaulie Wood, leading us to a serene lunch spot just shy of Monnow Bridge. Our afternoon was spent meandering by the Wye, past the architectural echo of Monmouth Viaduct, towards the grandeur of the now quiet Troy House. With spirits high, we crossed back into the welcoming arms of Redbrook, marking another memorable day of camaraderie and discovery. A heartfelt thanks to Derek & Cath for guiding us on this delightful escapade!
