Bright sunshine greeted 8 Merthyr Valley Ramblers at Llanfoist crossing at the start of our 8 mile plus walk today. Smiles were big despite the cold temperatures as we walked along the old Merthyr / Abergavenny railway track-bed. We had a cuppa by the old LMS region station at Govilon and luncheon at Gilwern station, beyond which we did some road work before turning back to cross the A465 and join the canal. It was then plain-sailing all the way along the towpath and back to the carpark. A big thanks to Morfedd and Rob for the walk and to all for the great company.
