It was nippy and damp for the ten hardy ramblers on our 4.5 mile pre-AGM walk today. We started from the Red Lion (cracking pub btw) on the road towards Winch Fawr then turned off up and along the footpath to the road at the top of Heolgerrig. We continued up the road to the gate leading to the radio mast and the trig point. After a refreshing cuppa and in increasing sunshine, we headed back to the road and cross-countried past the black sheep to the top of the quarry where we dropped down to the forestry road. We then carried on along the road to Mayor’s square where we dropped down to the pub for a welcome drink. A highly successful and enjoyable inaugural walk for our newest walk leader Maureen and great company too! Thanks all.
